How does eSIM installation work?
After payment, a QR code arrives by email. You scan it from your phone's settings to add the eSIM, then turn on data roaming for that new line. That is the whole installation — nothing is shipped and there is no card to insert.
The four steps
- Check your phone first. The phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Use the compatibility checker before you buy.
- Open the email. It contains your QR code, a quick-install link, and your order number.
- Add the eSIM. On iPhone: Settings › Cellular › Add eSIM › Use QR Code. On most Android phones: Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › Add eSIM. Scan the code from a second screen, or tap the quick-install link directly on the phone if you have no way to display the QR.
- Turn on data roaming for that line. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that puts the eSIM online at your destination. It applies to the new eSIM line only — leave your home line's data switched off.
Do it at home, on Wi-Fi
Installing needs an internet connection, which is exactly what you will not have when you land. Add the eSIM before you fly, over your home Wi-Fi. Installing does not start the plan: the countdown begins when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, and you have a 180-day window after purchase to activate.
Keep the email
The order number in it is what you will use later to check your remaining data and to add more, so keep it somewhere you can reach without a data connection — a screenshot works.
