How does unlimited data work on a travel eSIM?
On a RapideSIM unlimited plan, the first 2 GB each day run at full speed. After that, the connection continues at 1 Mbit/s for the rest of the day, and the full-speed allowance resets the next day. Nothing is cut off, and no extra data is ever billed.
The three figures, plainly

There is no cut-off and no overage charge. Passing 2 GB changes your speed, not your bill.
What 1 Mbit/s actually lets you do
It is a working connection, not a punishment, and it is not a fast one. At 1 Mbit/s:
- Works normally — WhatsApp and messaging, maps and turn-by-turn navigation, email, web browsing, ride-hailing, music streaming, standard-definition video.
- Does not work well — high-definition video, large downloads and uploads, video calls at good quality, cloud backups.
Said differently: after 2 GB you can still find your way, answer your messages and check in for a flight. You will not stream a film in HD.

Unlimited or a fixed amount?
A fixed plan is often the better buy for a short trip with light use — maps, messages, the occasional search — because you pay for a smaller amount and never touch a speed limit. An unlimited plan makes sense when you do not want to think about the balance, or when you would otherwise be topping up repeatedly. Both stop at the end of their validity; neither can bill you more than you paid.
