Yesim alternatives: what to check first
Last updated: 29 August 2026. Written by the RapideSIM Travel Team. Every figure below was read on the providers' own public pages on 29 August 2026 and carries its source link. We sell eSIMs, so read this as what it is: a comparison written by one of the companies in the table. The parts where we come out worse are marked as clearly as the rest.
The short answer
Yesim is not the cheapest 30-day unlimited plan, on any of the four destinations we priced. Read on their site on 29 August 2026 with the currency selector on USD, a month of unlimited data costs 54.00 $ in the United States, 66.00 $ in Japan, 68.40 $ in Turkey and 67.20 $ in Europe. On every one of those four, someone else in our survey is cheaper: Simbye at 46.95 $ in the United States and 64.95 $ in Japan, eTravelSim at 45.00 $ in Turkey and 39.00 $ in Europe. Against us specifically, Yesim is cheaper on two of the four (the United States and Japan) and dearer on the other two.
What Yesim does have is granularity. Their durations are cut to the exact day, from 1 to 30 days, where most sellers here — us included — sell fixed 7 / 15 / 30-day blocks. If your trip is eleven days long, that is worth more than a headline price.
Look elsewhere if you need two things Yesim does not give you. First, a published daily speed threshold: Yesim's help centre states that Yesim itself does not enforce a fair usage policy and does not publish the figure applied by its partner networks, so you cannot know before buying at what point your connection slows down. Airalo (3 GB/day), eTravelSim (4 GB/day), Saily (up to 5 GB/day) and RapideSIM (2 GB/day) all publish theirs. Second, installation without an app: Yesim's own FAQ points you to the Internet section of the Yesim app to find unlimited plans.
And check the public reviews of both of us before you decide. Trustpilot's page for Yesim currently shows a notice instead of a score. Ours shows 2.5 out of 5 on 54 reviews — the lowest of every rated provider in this comparison. Both facts are linked below.
How we checked
Three plan tiers, defined so that they are strictly comparable: unlimited for 7 days, 5 GB for 30 days, unlimited for 30 days — data-only in every case, no calls, no phone number. Four destinations that everyone sells: the United States, Japan, Turkey, Europe. Prices are the amount actually charged at checkout, in US dollars, read on 29 August 2026. Where a provider shows a struck-through "was" price next to the selling price, we use the selling price and say so. We did not test network speed anywhere, so this page says nothing about it.

The same three plans, priced
All prices in US dollars, data-only, read on 29 August 2026 on the pages linked at the bottom of
this page, with Yesim's currency selector set to "$, USD". Yesim shows a struck-through higher
price next to its capped plans — 10.56 $ against a struck-through 22.20 $ on Japan 5 GB, for
instance; the figures below are the selling price, the only amount actually paid. Comparing our
price to a competitor's struck-through price is the trick these pages exist to avoid.
One warning about re-checking these figures. An earlier reading of this same
column, taken from the same URLs, came back exactly 1.2 times lower on every single line,
struck-through prices included. We could not establish what causes that — Yesim's own page copy
says its plans carry "no hidden fees or taxes", the per-plan discounts it advertises vary from
−10 % to −71 % and so cannot produce a uniform multiplier, and the site detected our location as
Morocco while displaying USD. Until we can explain it, we publish what the page showed us on
29 August 2026 and tell you that your own screen may differ by a fifth.

Ten lines to three. Yesim takes the two 30-day unlimited lines that matter most — the United States and, by a very wide margin, Japan — plus the United States on 5 GB by nineteen cents. We take the rest. Do not read that 10–3 as a verdict: four destinations we chose ourselves are a small sample and a favourable one, two of the ten are won by less than half a dollar, and the wider survey in the next section says the opposite about our prices in general.
Where we come out worse
- Our daily allowance is the smallest published figure here, and we do not hold that place alone. 2 GB per day at full speed, then 1 Mbit/s. Saily publishes up to 5 GB/day on its country plans, eTravelSim 4 GB/day, Airalo 3 GB/day, and both Nomad and Simbye publish the same 2 GB/day as us — six of the eight sellers we survey publish a figure, and ours is joint last of the six, not second-to-last (simbye.com/pages/faq, read 29 August 2026). Yesim publishes nothing, which is a different problem, not a better deal. If you routinely burn more than 2 GB in a day, we are not the cheapest way to do it — read what each of the eight sellers publishes as a daily allowance before you buy anything from anyone.
- Japan on a month of unlimited data is our worst line anywhere: 120.99 $ against 66.00 $ at Yesim, 64.95 $ at Simbye and 69.00 $ at Airalo. We are last of the seven sellers that offer that plan in Japan, at roughly 1.9 times the cheapest. There is no reading of that number that flatters us, and we are not going to bury it in a footnote. Yesim also beats us in the United States on the same tier, 54.00 $ against 61.99 $.
- Our public rating is 2.5 out of 5 on 54 reviews, the lowest of all the rated providers we looked at. A small sample, but a small sample is what we have.
- We are not generally the cheapest. On 26 August 2026 we priced 571 strictly comparable tiers across 96 countries — every tier where we and at least one of the two other sellers with a fully public catalogue (Simbye, eTravelSim) sell the same volume for the same duration — against the cheaper of those two. We were the more expensive on 489 of the 571, or 86 %. Taking all 571 tiers, the ones we win included, the median gap is +36.1 %. Price is not our argument, and any page of ours that implies otherwise is selling you something.
- No app is a real limitation for some people. There is no dashboard on your phone, no push notification, no in-app purchase of a second plan while you are abroad without opening a browser.
Who each one is right for
Choose Yesim if…
- You want the duration cut to the exact day rather than in fixed 7 / 15 / 30-day blocks. This is the one thing on this page Yesim does that nobody else here does.
- You are going to the United States or Japan for a month on an unlimited plan, where they were cheaper than us — 54.00 $ and 66.00 $ against our 61.99 $ and 120.99 $. They were not the cheapest overall on either: Simbye was, at 46.95 $ and 64.95 $.
- You are comfortable installing and managing the plan through their app.
Choose Airalo, Saily or eTravelSim if…
- Knowing the daily threshold before you pay is what matters to you. Those three publish 3 GB, up to 5 GB and 4 GB per day respectively — all more generous than our 2 GB. Saily's figure varies by plan rather than by continent: 5 GB on the country plans we read, including Spain, and 3 GB on the Europe regional plan, so read the page for the exact plan and not a headline.
- Note that Saily's installation goes through their app too, and that eTravelSim's own eSIM FAQ states its standard unlimited plans do not support hotspot use (etravelsim.com/pages/faq-for-esim) while one of their product pages for the same kind of plan says the opposite.
Choose RapideSIM if…
- You want an unlimited option on a destination that is not one of the big sellers. An unlimited tier exists on 91 of our 103 plans; the breadth of that is the one thing we do measurably better than most, and it is verifiable from our public catalogue in a browser.
- You do not want to install an app to get online. QR code and instructions by email, managed from a private link.
- You want a short unlimited stay: we were cheaper than Yesim on all four 7-day lines, though Japan was won by 0.41 $ and is not a difference worth choosing a seller over. Not for a month in the United States or Japan, where Yesim is cheaper and we are worst of all in Japan.
