How do I buy an eSIM data plan online?

Search your destination, pick the plan that matches your trip length and data needs, and pay. The eSIM arrives by email as a QR code within minutes. Nothing is shipped and there is no shop to visit.

The four steps

  1. Check your phone supports eSIM. Do this first — an eSIM cannot be installed on a phone that does not support it, or on one locked to a carrier. Use the compatibility checker.
  2. Find your destination. Type the country into the search bar, or browse plans by destination.
  3. Choose a plan. Each one shows its data amount and its validity. Match them to your trip rather than to the price alone: a plan that expires halfway through the trip is not a saving.
  4. Pay. The confirmation email follows within minutes.

What the email contains

  • A QR code to install the eSIM.
  • A quick-install link, if you have no second screen to display the QR from.
  • Your order number.

Keep that email. The order number is what you will use later to check your remaining data and to add more, and it is the one thing you will want at hand when you have no connection.

Buying ahead is safe

You have 180 days after purchase to activate, and the plan's validity only starts when the eSIM first connects at your destination. Buying weeks before departure — and installing at home over Wi-Fi — costs you nothing and removes the arrivals-hall scramble.
